Welcome to Emerson Elementary's School counseling page |
My name is Zoe Romero and am the school counselor for Emerson Elementary. I have the joy of working with students through classroom guidance lessons, small group counseling, and individual counseling. I also collaborate with school staff and parents in order to best meet the needs of students.
Classroom Guidance Lessons Throughout the year I visit classrooms to teach a variety of lessons on social and emotional learning. Lessons typically last 30 minutes in length and cover topics such as school readiness skills, empathy, emotional management, problem solving skills, friendship skills, and suicide prevention. Small Group Counseling Small group counseling is offered depending on the need of our school community. This counseling option is offered to those who might benefit from additional support or who are experiencing similar life experiences. A Groups can have anywhere from 2-5 members and usually meet once a week for several weeks. Individual Counseling Some students can benefit from one-on-one counseling regarding academic, social, or emotional challenges. I also work with students to help them find the tools to be successful both academically and emotionally. |
UpdatesFor the remainder of the week we will be having students participate in remote learning. On Tuesday, January 18th, students and families will have the chance to pick up any items they will need this week. Next Monday, we will have in-person learning continue. Thank you all for your patience and hope you are staying healthy and safe. Please explore the options for more resources through the menu tab (three horizontal lines) in the upper left corner of this site. Any updates I will add to the News/Updates page to keep everyone informed about resources available. Please don't hesitate to contact me-my info is below. |
